Anganwadis / Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)
The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is a flagship national welfare programme launched on 2 October 1975 with the objective of promoting the holistic development of children and ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and children.
At present, 27 Anganwadi Centres are functioning in Chokli Grama Panchayat. These centres provide a comprehensive range of services to children from birth to six years of age, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and adolescent girls. The services include supplementary nutrition, health care, growth monitoring, immunization, pre-school education, and health and nutrition awareness programmes.
The ICDS programme plays a vital role in laying a strong foundation for the physical, mental, intellectual, and social development of children while enhancing maternal and child welfare through integrated and community-based services.

Nutritional Health
Improve the nutritional and health status of children from birth to six years of age.
Holistic Development
Lay a strong foundation for the physical, mental, and social development of children.
Health Protection
Reduce the incidence of child mortality, illness, and malnutrition.
Convergence of Services
Ensure effective coordination and convergence of programmes and services delivered by various government departments.
Health Education
Provide parents and caregivers with appropriate health and nutrition education.

Promote the active participation of families in the holistic growth and development of children.
Anganwadi Services
Supplementary Nutrition
Provides nutritious supplementary food to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
Immunization
Ensures timely immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases.
Health Check-ups
Conducts regular health check-ups and growth monitoring for children.
Referral Services
Refers children and mothers requiring specialized medical care to appropriate healthcare institutions.
Pre-School Education
Provides early childhood education to prepare children for formal schooling.
Health and Nutrition Education
Creates awareness among parents and caregivers on health, hygiene, and nutrition practices.

The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a Central Government scheme that provides financial assistance to pregnant women and postnatal mothers to support improved nutrition and promote better maternal and child health care.
