**Beacon Town Panchayat-Level Workshop**
Chokli Grama Panchayat Beacon Town Panchayat-Level Workshop
The Chokli Grama Panchayat Beacon Town Panchayat-Level Workshop was held on 15 September 2026 at the Chokli Grama Panchayat Hall. The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon. Panchayat President, N. Anoop.
Panchayat Secretary Amal Raj, Assistant Secretary T. Sajith Kumar, Vice President K. M. Sapna, K. T. K. Pradeepan, Planning Committee Vice-Chairperson K. P. Sachindran, film director Pradeep Chokli, and Block Panchayat Member P. K. Mohanan addressed the gathering.
Representatives from various government institutions, educational institutions, traders, Ward Development Committees, clubs, reading rooms, voluntary organizations, temple committees, church committees, financial institutions, architects, construction workers, artists, contractors, and Haritha Karma Sena members participated in the workshop.
Fourteen Centres to Be Developed as Beacon Towns
Fourteen locations within the Grama Panchayat will be developed as Beacon Towns. The activities will commence at the following locations:
- Nidumbram–Vellachery
- V. P. Oriental High School – Vayalil Pidika (Madappura Road)
- From Sree Narayana Reading Room to the Panchayat Office
- Thazhe Chokli to Mele Chokli
- Chokli Town Bypass Road
- From CMC to Menapram Temple
- Kaviyoor Town
- Narayananparamba Town
- Bund Road
- Coastal Road
- Chokli–Kaviyoor Road
- Montal Town
- Mekkun Town
- RCB Premises
Sanitation and Development Activities
Sanitation activities will commence on 2 October, Gandhi Jayanti Day. The Panchayat administration aims to ensure comprehensiveness, completeness, and sustainability in the sanitation sector.
As part of the second phase, surveys will be completed under the leadership of students to initiate workshops and development activities at each centre, with the active participation of local residents.
The objective is to transform Chokli Grama Panchayat into a clean, beautiful area with improved basic infrastructure.
On 2 October, the work at Nidumbram–Vellachery will be completed with the cooperation of local residents, and the area will be declared a Beacon Town.
People from various sectors have come forward to support the successful implementation of the project through collective efforts. Panchayat President N. Anoop stated that the Beacon Town development activities would be completed within the stipulated time with the cooperation of the local community.
